Creating a new app is straightforward. I just had to answer a few questions, some optional:
Someone had taken the app names below, unsurprisingly. There must be quite a few creators on the platform.
For the details, I added: "The user will specify a daily word count target for writing, then track progress towards that target throughout the day, as the user writes or dictates into a text field. The app would help them estimate the average number of words per hour they'd need to produce for the rest of the day. This may create a sense of urgency as the end of the day draws near."
The New Application Assistant appeared, and I chose Let's get started.
I just entered "Word Count Tracker" as the name on the next screen, then clicked Okay, next step:
You can choose the language to be used across your app. No Klingon yet, so I had to settle for English:
Uploaded the favicon, which shows up in the browser tab:
I could install plugins for different functionality. For payments, I'm starting with Stripe and PayPal for now.
The next screen gives me the option to connect to APIs. I don't have any I can think of right now, so I just clicked Go to last step.
On the last screen of the New Application Assistant, they suggest I take the lessons. Will definitely need those.
I'll also take the tour because, why not?
